Best practice for ViewModel interaction

Jan 4, 2011 at 2:46 PM

We're writing a WPF app where a ViewModel (child) needs to let know another ViewModel (parent) to Refresh it's ICollectionView.

In another post (http://bit.ly/e0lDzR) I read that currently a Message would be a good pratice.

Is that still the case ?
Is there a better way to solve this problem ?
I can't imagine that nobody ever wrote more than 1 ViewModel and didn't run into a problem a like :-).

Thanks in advance,

Michael

I wrote a blog post about this very thing only a few months ago. See if it helps:

Nested ViewModels
