NetStandard Release?

Are there any plans for a netstandard release?

Yes this is the main focus of V5.4. ETA is not totally clear because I am busy recording a Pluralsight course but I want to try to do this not too late.

No updates?

Is there any news here? Perhaps a fork/branch or something others could help contribute to?

We use protobuf-net throughout our projects and it's cut over to netstandard. I've managed to port most of our core libraries except for MvvmLightLibs.

I had a quick go at creating a .netstandard 1.3 version of MvvmLightLibs yesterday.

The main hurdle was the lack of a corresponding CommonServiceLocator package.

To that end I've submitted a pull request over there:

Damn those dependencies.

In the past when CommonServiceLocator was not available for Silverlight, I bundled it with MVVM Light directly. We could also do that here and wait until the CSL team ports it to restore the reference

Looks like the only option.

Quote from an issue on the other unity project:
I asked Jeff Fritz at a Dotnet meetup and he was not aware of any efforts to bring Unity IOC forward to core. The team has largely been dispersed throughout Microsoft.

Just a quick note that the CommonServiceLocator has finally been updated (5 days ago) so this should now be possible.
